Creed's Human Clay Still Top U.S. Seller
Creed's Human Clay was the country's best-selling album
for a second straight week, according to SoundScan sales figures released
Wednesday (Oct. 13). The album, heavy on hard-rock riffs and spiritual
themes, sold 190,055 copies for the week ending Sunday, a big week for
rock albums, according to SoundScan statistics. Fellow rock band Live's
fourth album, The Distance to Here, featuring the thunderous
single "The Dolphin's Cry," debuted as the #4 seller, while veteran
Latin rock band Santana's Supernatural climbed two spots
to #2. Also debuting this week: blues-rocker Melissa Etheridge's
Breakdown, at #12; Wu-Tang Clan rapper Inspectah Deck's
groove-heavy Uncontrolled Substance, at #19; ex-Beatle Paul
McCartney's Run Devil Run, a collection of early rock 'n'
roll covers and three originals, at #27; and British veteran David
Bowie's hours ..., at #47.
