Will Ferrell Scores Big Laughs With NBA Game Lineup

Comedian introduces Chicago Bulls player who still lives with his mother and another whose favorite movie is 'The Notebook.'

After playing a professional figure skater, basketball player and a NASCAR driver, it's safe to say Will Ferrell has a pretty good grasp on the lighter side of sports. So it's no surprise that he earned big laughs announcing the starting lineup at Wednesday night's Chicago Bulls/ New Orleans Hornets basketball game.

In New Orleans filming the political comedy "Dog Fight" with Zach Galifianakis, Ferrell was asked to join the '80s night festivities at New Orleans Arena to announce the lineup, and he did just that, but with a twist: He introduced each player with a series of jokey, made-up non sequiturs that had the audience in tears.

Always unpredictable, Ferrell played it straight and went right into his shtick, starting with the visiting Bulls. "At forward #5, he still lives with his mother, Carlos Boozer," the comic joked.

Various other players, according to Ferrell's intros, plan on becoming rodeo clowns in retirement, love to listen to Bell Biv Devoe, collect rare birds and minored in love in college. Perhaps most embarrassed was Bull Derek Rose, whose spot was blown when Ferrell revealed that "his favorite movie is 'The Notebook.' "

Fans of Ferrell will get a double dose of the star Thursday (February 9): He makes an appearance in Jay-Z and Kanye West's video for their smash [article id="1678803"]"N---as in Paris,"[/article] which premieres at 12:05 p.m. on MTV.
