In the extended, supercalifragilistic new home edition of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" hitting shelves this fall, there'll be a dozen or so extra minutes of footage which have been edited and scored to fit right into the pic, including this never-before-seen bit of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and Lord Elrond (Hugo Weaving)'s very first little chat.

As debuted by Yahoo! Movies U.K., the brief scene's conversation centers on Bilbo's hesitation to join the others on their little gold-seeking journey to Lonely Mountain, and the elder elf is not exactly your everyday motivational speaker. As the two chat against the ridiculously beautiful landscape of Rivendell, Elrond basically says that the Hobbit is a creature of comfort who should just sit the bench on this one. It is a pretty bench, after all! For his part, though, Baggins takes the jab with a grain of salt, retorting, "I've heard that it is not wise to seek counsel with elves, they will answer with 'yes' and 'no.'"

Of course, anyone who's seen the rest of the movie that actually did make it to the big screen in the first place will know that Elrond later comes through in the clutch by deciphering the group's little map to reveal some crucial deets on a secret door (oooh! aaah!), so that elvish tendency to double-talk — in this case, the ability to read multiple ancient languages — can come in pretty handy for Bilbo & Co.

"I’m thrilled that the Extended Edition will give fans the opportunity to experience certain key scenes in the film as they were originally shot, as well as an abundance of special features," director Peter Jackson said of the new Blu-ray/DVD set. "It’s exciting to present this expanded and enriched version of 'An Unexpected Journey' to allow fans to fully immerse themselves in the movie, before seeing the second part of the trilogy."

Enter movie two of the series, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," which hits theaters on Dec. 13.
