Blink 182 Lands Role In New Coming-Of-Age Film

Punk rock trio Blink 182 have scored an acting part in the new coming-of-age comedy "East Great Falls High," and will also contribute a new song, "Mutt" to the film's soundtrack.

"Falls" will feature Blink 182 playing themselves in one of the films "racier" scenes, and the band was approached by "East Great Falls" producers because of its appeal to its target audience. Other musical acts are also expected to participate in the project as well.

Starring Chris Klein , Eddie Kaye Thomas, Natasha Lyonne and Alyson Hannigan, "East Great Falls" tells the story of four friends who make a pact to lose their virginity by the end of their senior year in high school. The film is due to arrive on screens in the spring of next year.

Next month, Blink 182 will head into the studio to start work on its new album, the follow-up to 1997's "Dude Ranch," which is also set for a spring 1999 release.
