Robert Plant, Jimmy Page To Play Montreux Jazz Festival

Duo have no plans for other performances or collaborations.

Yes, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant recorded the Sonny Burgess track "My Bucket's Got a Hole In It" last year for the Sun Records tribute album (due this fall). And yes, the pair are scheduled to perform on July 7 in Switzerland at the Montreux Jazz Festival. But if you're giddy with anticipation for another Page/Plant album, your dancing days might be a long way off.

The July performance is part of a tribute to Sun Records, and there are no other Page/Plant concert dates scheduled, according to Honey Bianci, Page's English spokesperson. "They recorded the track for the tribute album over a year ago," Bianci said, "and right now, aside from this festival show, there's nothing else planned for the two of them."

The spokesperson didn't know how long Page and Plant's festival set would last or whether the show would consist strictly of Sun Records covers.

The July 7 Sun tribute concert also includes Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Lee Riley, Little Milton and Sonny Burgess.

The Montreux Jazz Festival runs from July 6 to 21 and also features Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, the Black Crowes, Beck, Everlast, Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather, Burning Spear, and Roni Size/Reprazent.
