Foxy Brown On Lil' Kim: We Have To 'Dead Our Beef' Before Reunion

Fabolous' failed plan to pair Foxy with Kim at Summer Jam didn't feel 'real,' she tells 'RapFix Live.'

The rap game is a fiercely competitive one, but there's nothing that hip-hop fans love more than a great reunion. One photo of Jay Z and Dame Dash together made waves last week, and while Fabolous was hoping to create such a moment with Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim at Summer Jam last year, it didn't quite work out. During her visit to "RapFix Live," Foxy cleared up the rumors surrounding that day, explaining that the attempted reunion just wouldn't have felt real.

As the story went, Fabolous had big plans to reunite the Brooklyn rappers during his Summer Jam set, but due to Foxy's tardiness, things fell apart. Foxy clarified what she called the "buffoonish rumors" Wednesday, explaining that the situation felt forced, and noting that Kim wasn't ready to make peace.

"It's a touchy situation because I have a lot of respect for Fab, but let's just say that it wasn't orchestrated properly and when you have something of that magnitude -- I understand the epic-ness of [having] the biggest female rappers to change the game come together and touch mics -- some part of that has to feel real."

Foxy explained that Fab reached out to have her cameo during his set, and at the last minute made a major suggestion. "The night before he called me and said 'Ing, I wanna ask you something. I don't know how you're gonna feel about this. He said: 'How would you feel if I brought Lil' Kim out with us onstage?"

Foxy says she entertained the idea, knowing how big the moment would be for rap fans.

"I said, 'That'd be crazy for Brooklyn.' I've always been the one to extend the olive branch, that's why Nicki [Minaj] and I are the way we are and that's why she gives me the respect she gives me," she explained, adding that Fab envisioned creating a moment similar to Jay and Nas' reunion at Summer Jam when they finally buried the hatchet.

"[But] it's not the same thing," she said. "Because Jay and Nas conversed prior to coming out onstage and they were able to dead their beef before. The last time [Kim] and I were even in the same vicinity, there was a shootout. The last comments I remember hearing her make about me -- she laughed at the fact that I lost my hearing. So when people do things like that and they have malicious intent, that's different that just a rap battle."

"If it's real and we can orchestrate a situation where it's real, then I'm with it," Foxy said on a closing note. "It's not real, I'm not with it and it wasn't real. When [Fab] spoke to her, she was defiant from the moment he even said my name. She said, 'I don't wanna perform with her, etc.' Typical."
