Two Shot Backstage At T.S.O.L. Show In West Hollywood

Incident occurred Saturday at House of Blues; victims in good condition.

The punk bands performing at a West Hollywood club Saturday night were so loud that most of the audience wasn't aware two men were shot backstage during the show, a sheriff's deputy said Tuesday.

Veteran punk group T.S.O.L. were headlining a House of Blues show that also included the Adolescents, the Crowd and Los Villains when a dispute broke out about 10:15, according Deputy Don Mueller.

Officials have not released the names of the 43-year-old and 37-year-old Orange County residents who were shot in the shoulder and jaw, respectively, but said both are in good condition.

Deputies are searching for a suspect described as a black male, age 30-35, about 6 feet 4 inches tall and 250 pounds.

Mueller said authorities are still investigating how the fight broke out and are interviewing the victims, the bands and club employees.

T.S.O.L. was scheduled to return to the House of Blues on Sunday, but that show has been postponed. A new date has not yet been announced.

Formed in 1978, T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty) were an influence on many other Los Angeles punk bands forming at the time, including Bad Religion and Social Distortion. Though their lineup has evolved over the years, 2001's Disappear saw the return of original singer Jack Grisham, who had left the band two decades ago.
