Amazing Rhythm Aces Drummer Dead

David H. (Butch) McDade, 52, founding drummer of country rockers the Amazing Rhythm Aces, died in Maryville, Tenn., at 3:45 a.m. Sunday after a long bout with cancer. McDade, who played in a recent Aces reunion, also played with such artists as Leon Russell and Tanya Tucker. After touring with singer/songwriter Jesse Winchester, McDade formed the Amazing Rhythm Aces in 1974 with bassist Jeff Davis. The band's debut LP, 1975's Stacked Deck, featured their biggest hits, "Third Rate Romance" and "Amazing Grace (Used To Be Her Favorite Song)."
