Justin Bieber Beats One Direction On The 'Billboard' Charts

Sorry, 1D.

One Direction, bow down to your new Billboard overlord, the Biebs. Justin Bieber beat out the 1D boys for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with Purpose. It's his sixth No. 1 album on the chart.

Purpose tallied 649,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 19, according to Nielsen Music, making it the largest weekly unit total for an album since the Billboard 200 began tracking popularity based on overall equivalent units earned. (That pretty much just means they include streaming and track sales, too.) It beat Drake's debut week record for If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which sold 535,000 units.

One Direction came in at a very respectable No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with Made In The A.M.. Six more of the top 10 spots also included debuts from Logic (No. 3), Jeezy (No. 4), Chris Young (No. 5), Trans-Siberian Orchestra (No. 7), Alessia Cara (No. 9) and Kirk Franklin (No. 10).
