Britney Spears To Tour U.S. Arenas With LFO

Pop princess and boy band will hit the road together for a 24-date outing.

Pop princess Britney Spears will launch an arena tour of U.S. cities

in March as part of her world tour.

Spears, who turned 18 earlier this month, will hit the road with

teen-pop group LFO, beginning March 8, in Pensacola, Fla. The outing

will move north and edge into the Midwest before returning to Florida.

The last scheduled date is April 9, in Ft. Myers.

LFO's label, Arista, provided the itinerary in a press release.

Spears' Jive Records spokesperson said she did not have confirmed

dates for the singer and that any announced dates were subject to

change. Spears will likely confirm her tour plans later this week,

the spokesperson said.

Spears performed her first headlining tour this summer and was the

top winner, along with the Backstreet Boys, at the 1999

Billboard Music Awards last week. She took home four trophies

recognizing her sales achievements, including Female Artist of the

Year and New Artist of the Year. The singer has sold more than 9

million copies of her debut album, ... Baby One More

Time, which features the hit title track

While she was backstage, after accepting one of her awards, Spears

reflected on her whirlwind year: "This year's been amazing," she

said. "I remember last year at this time, I was excited that my

single went gold, and now we just found out it went Diamond. Finally,

all the hard work has really paid off, and I just feel really

Sometimes she's reminded of her success in strange ways, she said.

"I go home and my little sister's playing with my Barbie dolls," she

said, referring to Mattel's Britney Spears Fashion Dolls collection.

"I'm like, 'Whooo, that's weird.' "

Spears, who also is up for three American Music Awards, plans to

release her second album in the spring or summer.

LFO's latest single, "Girl on TV"
