Ian Watkins, former lead singer of Lostprophets, was sentenced to 29 years in prison on Wednesday (December 18) for a litany of sexual offenses, including the attempted rape of a baby. Watkins was also sentenced to six years of strict probation following his sentence.

Last month, Watkins shocked the world when he pled guilty to 13 charges, including molesting a 1-year-old, creating child pornography and asking a fan to abuse her child, according to USA Today.

The 36-year-old was arrested in December 2012 and previously denied the charges.

Upon sentencing, Judge Roger John Royce said Watkins "plumbed new depths of depravity."

"Those who have appeared in these courts over many years see a large number of horrific cases," he added, according to ABC News. "This case, however, breaks new ground."

Watkins' two female accomplices -- who participated in the abuse of their children -- were jailed for 15 and 16 years.

Formed in 1997, Lostprophets were best known for their 2006 album, Liberation Transmission. They disbanded in October 2013, saying in a statement that "after nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time. We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets."
