New 'Yogi Bear' Trailer: Animated AND Educational
Does a bear steal picnic baskets in the woods?
It sure does if it's Yogi Bear – at least that's the premise of the upcoming 3-D, live-action "Yogi Bear" movie, judging by the trailer.
Though the film's hush-hush plot reportedly revolves around Yogi (Dan Aykroyd), Boo-Boo (Justin Timberlake… yes, you read that right!) and Ranger Smith's (Tom Cavanagh) attempts to stop an evil mayor from shutting down beloved Jellystone Park, the trailer focuses on Yogi and Boo-Boo's stop-at-nothing attempts to get a pre-packaged meal.
As the voiceover puts it: "They're grabbing lunch – one basket at a time."
And indeed they do! The furry duo are seen swiping a basket from a picnicker's car, luring in a lunchbox from the roof of a cabin, and soaring off a cliff on a bike bedecked with wings, all in the name of a PB&J sandwich.
That's not to say this isn't an educational film. While we may not be "smarter than the average bear," we did learn a few things. Among them:
The "Yogi Bear" movie arrives in theaters at Christmastime, and, as it's furry leading man (Yogi, not Aykroyd) puts it, "It's got a little of everything: music, stunts, magic – and I jump over Boo-Boo at the end."
Throw in a free picnic lunch with every movie ticket purchase and we're so there!
