Our Lady Peace Bring Happiness To Eastern U.S.
Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace kicked off a tour of the Eastern U.S. on Friday (April 21) in support of their most recent album, 1999's Happiness ... Is Not a Fish That You Can Catch.
The group's third LP was the top-selling album in Canada when it debuted in late September. The disc's two singles, "One Man Army" and "Is Anybody Home," broke into the Billboard Top Modern Rock Tracks chart.
On Earth Day, Saturday, the quartet will play on an afternoon radio show in Orlando, Fla., before performing an evening show in North Ft. Myers, Fla. After climbing up to Plattsburgh in upstate New York, Our Lady Peace will end their tour in Pensacola, Fla., at the Florida Springfest.
Formed in 1992 in Toronto, Our Lady Peace have maintained an eclectic musical style. While many of their songs have themes of despair and confusion, jazz drummer Elvin Jones, a veteran of upbeat hard bop and avant-garde music, makes a guest appearance on the new album's "Stealing Babies."
