Chemicals Grab Another Festival Top Spot

Will headline new Irish fest, the day after Glastonbury in June.

Breakbeat-techno figureheads the Chemical Brothers will headline another European festival this summer, Creamfields Ireland.

It was announced earlier this week that the duo — Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons — also will headline the Glastonbury Festival the day before.

Creamfields Ireland, a sister festival to Creamfields UK, will be held June 24 at Punchestown Racecourse, in County Kildare, near Dublin.

A spokesperson for the festival said other bands will be confirmed soon.

Meanwhile, Creamfields UK, a seven-arena festival (including Big Beat Boutique, Radio One and Metalheadz areas) set for Aug. 26, at the Liverpool Airfield in Liverpool, England, has announced several acts, including Basement Jaxx, All Saints, Death in Vegas, Moloko, Groove Armada and Lo Fidelity Allstars.

The lineup of DJs scheduled to appear at Creamfields UK is also impressive: Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Goldie, Dave Clarke and Grooverider.

Creamfields was born in 1998, from the legendary Liverpool dance club Cream. Past acts have included Pet Shop Boys and Mos Def.
