Next 'Divas' Will Honor Diana Ross
Former Supreme and celebrated solo artist Diana Ross will be the focus of "VH1 Divas 2000," the third version of the popular show, which will air at 9 p.m. EST on April 11. In addition to Ross, the show, "A Tribute to Diana Ross," will feature pop songstress Mariah Carey, "This Kiss" singer Faith Hill and disco star Donna Summer, according to a VH1 spokesperson. Ross, who turns 56 on Sunday (March 26), fronted the Supremes on such 1964 hits as "Where Did Our Love Go" and "Stop! In the Name of Love." After leaving the group in 1970, Ross went on to a successful solo and film career. Her most recent album was Every Day Is a New Day (1999). Carey and Hill appeared on previous "Divas" shows, in 1998 and 1999, respectively. (SonicNet's parent company, Viacom, also owns VH1.)
