Taylor Swift Told 'Who' To 'Shut The F--- Up'?

Singer's pal Ed Sheeran clears up the VMA night mystery.

We now know what Miley Cyrus was thinking when she [article id="1713414"]twerked[/article] her way through her Video Music Awards performance. But another pressing post-VMA question has also been burning up the Internet: Just what did Taylor Swift say -- and who was she saying it to -- when her ex, Harry Styles, was onstage presenting an award?

At the time, there was much speculation that Swift dismissed Styles with a curt profanity while One Direction was announcing the nominees for Best Pop Video. Others, however, maintained she said "Sorry for my arm," which had been resting on the back of best pal Selena Gomez's chair. In the week since the show, Swift has remained silent on the matter, leaving us in the lurch.

Thankfully, another of Taylor's besties, Ed Sheeran, is here to set the record straight.

In a Q&A session at a meet-and-greet, Sheeran revealed that Swift did, in fact, say "shut the f--- up," though it wasn't directed at Styles. Rather, she was attempting to boost Gomez's spirits, after Selena -- whose "Come & Get It" was nominated for Best Pop Video -- proclaimed she had no shot of winning the award.

"[Taylor] rung me straight afterward and she was like, 'I think I've messed up,' " Sheeran told the Q&A moderator. "Selena said to her, 'I think Miley's going to win the award over me,' and then Taylor said, 'Oh, shut the f--- up.' And that's what that was."

As it turns out, Taylor was right: Seconds later, Selena won Best Pop Video.
