Did Courtney Love Kill Her Daughter's Pets?

Courtney Love's relationship with her daughter Frances Bean Cobain has long been strained, to say the very least, but now previously sealed documents relating to Frances Bean's 2009 restraining order against the Hole singer detail a sad scene leading to their eventual estrangement.

The Fix obtained Frances Bean's deposition in the '09 filing and it contains some pretty troubling details about Love, including allegations that she accidentally killed her daughter's cat and dog in startling ways.

In her deposition, Frances alleges her cat died after being crushed "in piles of Etsy fabrics, boxes of paperwork, trash and other possessions" and that her dog died after ingesting pills belonging to Love. Frances went on to describe Love's prescription pill use in detail, saying, "She basically exists now on Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes," adding, "She [Love] rarely eats ... She often falls asleep in her bed while she is smoking, and I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times) that will threaten our lives."

Yikes!

Sadly, that's not all.

Frances Bean also revealed that when she was just 17, Love took her to ex-boyfriend James Barber's home to confront him.

"She took me in a taxi to his house in the middle of the night, and from outside the house, in her bare feet, she screamed at him, threw rocks at the house and threatened to burn his house down," Frances says in the court documents. "His children were inside the house, but that did not stop my mother."

Love was recently nearly evicted from her New York City townhouse after its owner discovered that she had ruined the home’s designer interior by painting over hand-finished walls and was continuously delinquent on her $27,000-a-month rent.
