Danell Apparently Died From Brain Aneurysm

Social Distortion guitarist was 38.

Social Distortion guitarist Dennis Danell's death at age 38 on Tuesday (Feb. 29) apparently resulted from a brain aneurysm, band representatives said. Danell collapsed in the driveway of his Newport Beach, Calif., home while moving with his family to a new residence in the city. Manager Jim Guerinot told the Los Angeles Times that Social Distortion singer Mike Ness and bassist John Maurer were with Danell's family at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, where emergency workers attempted to revive the guitarist for about 45 minutes. It's unclear how Danell's death will affect the future of Social Distortion. Danell is survived by his wife, Christie; his mother, Dee; and a 3-year-old son and 6-month-old daughter.
