Lambchop To Head Out With Yo La Tengo
Country-rock oddballs Lambchop will join eclectic indie-rockers Yo La Tengo on the road for the next month.
Lambchop's first extensive tour in five years will begin Feb. 24 (without Yo La Tengo) at Carrboro, N.C.'s Cat's Cradle. It will amble through the Northeast, then head west, ending March 13 at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, according to Merge Records. All other dates are with Yo La Tengo except Feb. 27 in Hoboken, N.J., according to the label.
In San Francisco, the bands will play four shows in three days, March 10–12. When the March 10 and 11 shows sold out in a flash, a matinee performance on the 11th and an evening set on the 12th were added.
With a lineup that fluctuates between nine and 14 members, Lambchop have released six albums. The latest, Nixon, hit stores Feb. 8. The LP includes such tracks as "Up With People" (RealAudio excerpt) and "Grumpus" (RealAudio excerpt).
