Richard Ashcroft Album Tentatively Set
Ex-Verve singer's solo debut may be out in June.
Ex-Verve leader Richard Ashcroft's solo debut is tentatively scheduled for a June release, a spokesperson for Virgin Records in the UK said. The spokesperson would not confirm a recent report in the English weekly New Musical Express that former Verve drummer Pete Salisbury and sometime Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell may appear on the still-untitled album, saying the report was "very premature." Ashcroft has laid low since the Verve's 1998 tour in support of Urban Hymns (1997), which spawned the hit "Bittersweet Symphony."
