Robert Pattinson Dodges Kristen Stewart Relationship Rumors

'Twilight' star asks 'Today' host Savannah Guthrie if it is 'in your contract' to ask if he and KStew are back together.

After months of speculation of whether they are or aren't back together, "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" costars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are speaking out on the status of their relationship, whether they want to or not.

On Wednesday, Stewart stopped by the "Today" show to promote the final "Twilight" installment and was asked by co-host Savannah Guthrie if she and Pattinson had reconciled.

"I'm just going to let people watch whatever little movie they would like to think our lives are, and keep them guessing I always say," Stewart said.

On Thursday (November 8), it was Pattinson's turn in the hot seat when he sat down with Guthrie. She asked Pattinson if he had heard Stewart's answer to the question fans have been dying to know.

"Keep 'em guessing?" he repeated after Guthrie informed him of KStew's response. "I want to ask, because we get asked it all the time, everyone always asks, like for four years. Who is actually asking? Is it in your contract?" he asked Guthrie.

"Yes, it's in the fine print," she said laughing.

This was the first time that Pattinson has been asked or spoken about the status of his relationship with Stewart, and he was clearly taken aback. Guthrie, not backing down, then followed up asking if his success with the "Twilight" is a "high price to pay" since "it is personal" for him now.

"Doesn't have to be," Pattinson said. "It only becomes personal if you answer it. I could sit here and talk nonsense about paper hats and stuff, getting old, needing a nap."

Stewart and Pattinson first met on the set of the first "Twilight" film back in 2008 and there has been speculation regarding their relationship ever since, but the two never publicly addressed their romance until Stewart issued a public statement apologizing to Pattinson for her "momentary indiscretion" after photos were released of her getting cozy with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders in July.

Last week, Pattinson and Stewart sat down with MTV News during "MTV First: 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2,' " where Pattinson and Stewart both revealed which "Twilight" scene they would want to reshoot: the first kiss scene.

"It's hard though. That was a hard scene," Pattinson said. "That was the audition scene as well. But, it's like in order... I don't know. It's just a difficult one."

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," opening November 16.
