Bon Jovi To "Crush" Fans In June

The first new Bon Jovi album in a half-decade will be carrying the title of "Crush," and it's scheduled to be released on June 13, according to the band's label.

The group has been in frontman Jon Bon Jovi's home studio in New Jersey for the past several months recording the long-awaited follow-up to 1995's "These Days" (see [article id="1426296"]"Bon Jovi Readies New Album"[/article]).

The new CD was originally dubbed "Sex Sells," but that idea was squelched when the song of the same name didn't make the final track listing. Also up for serious consideration was "One Wild Night," which is the title of a song that will make the album.

Other songs tentatively slated for the disc include "The Next 100 Years" (featuring a 64-piece orchestra), "Thank You For Loving Me," (described by Bon Jovi in an interview with "Kerrang!" as "a billion-dollar ballad" reminiscent of "Bed of Roses"), and a song called "Just Older." Other tracks will likely include

"Save The World," "I Got The Girls," "She's A Mystery," "Neurotica," and "Hard To Make A Living Loving You.

The song "Say It Isn't So" was at one time slated to be the first track to be released from the LP, although net reports say "It's My Life" will get the nod. A spokesperson for the label told MTV News that the first single is yet to be determined.

The band should wrap up production on "Crush" next week.

Next up, the group will be making a live appearance in Germany on March 25. A second promotional date is also in the process of being confirmed. As previously reported by MTV News, Bon Jovi will only be touring for approximately six months starting in Japan and continuing onto Europe for the bulk of July and August followed by a North American jaunt in September and October.

Meanwhile singer Jon Bon Jovi, who turned 38 on Thursday, will be scheduling his musical endeavors around his cinematic obligations. The singer will soon be logging some time on

the set of his new movie, "Pay It Forward." The story revolves around a young boy (played by "The Sixth Sense" star Haley Joel Osment), who is given an assignment by a teacher (Kevin Spacey) to come up with an idea that will change the world.

Bon Jovi has a small but pivotal role as Ricky, as the abusive, alcoholic ex-husband of the boy's dysfunctional mother, played by Helen Hunt.

Filming is currently underway in Las Vegas, and a spokesperson for the movie told MTV News that the bulk of Bon Jovi's part will largely be shot in Los Angeles sometime in April.

The singer will also be doing promotional duties for his soon-to-be released WWII submarine drama, "U-571" (see [article id="1426301"]"Jon Bon Jovi Shooting [Yet] Another Movie"[/article]). Bon Jovi co-stars with Matthew McConaughey, Harvey Keitel, and Bill Paxton in the film, which hits theatres on April 21.
