MTV Movie Awards' WTF Nominees Include Naked Breakups, Magic Bullets

Angelina Jolie, Ben Stiller and more will compete Sunday at 9 p.m. ET for Best WTF Moment, a new category.

Here at MTV, we embrace the outrageous, celebrate the bizarre and fist-bump everything that is thoroughly head-scratching in pop culture. That's why we've introduced a brand-new category for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards: Best WTF Moment.

The requirements for this category can no more be defined than comprehended, so let's just set the stage. You're sitting in the theater enjoying a flick, when a scene flashes across the screen that is so outlandish, so hilarious, so mind-bogglingly fantastic it becomes an instant classic. It's the scene you're talking about when you leave the theater, the scene you're telling everyone about the next day, the scene that compels you to keep asking yourself and others, "What the f---?!?"

Check out our nominees for the inaugural Best WTF Moment, and vote for your favorite by heading to MovieAwards.MTV.com.

Peeing in the Sink: Amy Poehler in "Baby Mama"

Hey, when ya gotta go, ya gotta go, right? That's the world according to Poehler's surrogate mother. Sure, even a 7-year-old shouldn't have trouble removing the child-protection lock on a toilet, but when even a well-placed hairbrush won't jimmy the freaking thing open, drastic measures are in order. Then Tina Fey walks by and catches Poehler squatting in the sink -- and the only sound is the tinkle of her transgression. "There's something wrong with your toilet," Poehler then said.

Curved-Bullet Kill: Angelina Jolie in "Wanted"

You didn't see that one coming, huh? Angelina killing half a dozen assassins with one circle-turning bullet? Which also plows through her head? Just so she can preserve the sanctity of her fraternity's cherished code? Now that is dedication! It's also totally badass and 100 percent mind-blowing. Literally.

Jumping in the Poop Shed: Ayush Mahesh Khedekar in "Slumdog Millionaire"

"Slumdog" may have been the feel-good movie of the year, but this clip is all sorts of wrong. Which, for our purposes, means it couldn't be more right. How badly do you worship your personal hero? Enough to plunge into a festering pit of poop to meet him? Now that is love. Should crap-covered Jamal get your vote? See how many times you can actually watch this stomach-churning clip and see if you ever stop asking yourself, "WTF?!?"

Tasting Decapitated Head: Ben Stiller in "Tropic Thunder"

You know your big-budget war film isn't going well when the director steps on a landmine and is blown to smithereens. And you really know things aren't going well when the star of the film decides the exploding director is all a big setup to elicit a naturalistic response from his actors. That's when Tugg Speedman -- self-declared veteran of "effects-driven event films" -- declares he's only holding a prop head made of corn syrup and latex rather than the director's decapitated gourd. He sticks a finger into the eviscerated flesh, takes a bloody taste and immediately guarantees himself a spot in the WTF category.

Naked Breakup: Jason Segel and Kristen Bell in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"

Segel has a surprise for his girlfriend -- it's hidden beneath his towel. Bell has a surprise for her boyfriend -- she's about to break his heart. And voilà: comedy gold at the humiliated expense of Segel, who went so far as to bare his manhood on the big screen. Now look at her face. Look at his face. Yeah, you know what both of them are thinking: We deserve to win this award!

Will the vampires grab more trophies than the slumdog? What was the year's ultimate onscreen WTF moment? It's up to you to decide the winners of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Vote now, and tune in on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, when the big show airs live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
