Cypress Hill Show Draws 40,000

Hip-hop 'Smoke Out' concert breaks attendance record.

Rappers Cypress Hill's second annual Smoke Out concert drew some 40,000 people to the Orange Show Arena in San Bernardino, Calif., on Saturday (Oct. 2), according to the concert-industry magazine Pollstar. The turnout made the event the biggest hip-hop show ever in Southern California. Cypress Hill topped the bill, which also featured the Deftones, KRS-One, Ozomatli, Gang Starr and the Long Beach Dub Allstars. Cypress Hill are scheduled to release their first Spanish-language album, Los Grandes Éxitos en Español, on Dec. 7. It includes collaborations with Mellow Man Ace — rapper Sen Dog's brother — and members of Mexican hip-hop act Control Machete.
