Ol' Dirty Bastard was arrested Saturday for the ninth time in more than a year, this time for alleged possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, according to Queens, N.Y., police.

Police said the Wu-Tang Clan rapper had 20 bags of crack and a glassine

envelope of marijuana in his pants pockets when they pulled him over for

running a red light in a 1994 Mercedes-Benz at 2:28 a.m. in the Queens

Village neighborhood.

If convicted, he faces a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum of 25, according to the district attorney's spokesperson, who asked not to be named.

ODB, who was released on bail, is due in Queens Criminal Court for a hearing Aug. 13.

His New York lawyer, Peter Frankel, did not immediately return calls for comment.

New York police spokesperson Charles Larkin said the rapper could not produce a driver's license when he was pulled over.

In March, police in neighboring Brooklyn, N.Y., said they found three envelopes of crack in ODB's car when they cited him for double parking. He has a hearing on that case Aug. 11.

ODB has been in police custody repeatedly on both coasts over the past year.

He was jailed briefly last week in Los Angeles after failing to pay bail in a case in which he is accused of threatening to kill security guards at a West Hollywood nightclub in September. He is due back in court in that case Sept. 10.

Other charges pending against him include a charge that he illegally wore a bulletproof vest in Los Angeles in February. In that case, the rapper was arrested under a new California law that forbids convicted violent felons from possessing body armor. A municipal court judge last week ordered the rapper to stand trial in the case.

Additionally, ODB faces charges of stealing a $50 pair of sneakers in Virginia; possessing crack in Brooklyn, N.Y., in March; and three additional counts for driving without a license.

Earlier this year, charges that ODB tried to kill police during a shootout in Brooklyn were dropped by a grand jury citing insufficient evidence. The rapper has vowed to sue police over the incident.

In cases dating as far back as April 1, 1987, ODB has been convicted of three petty larcenies, two assaults, fraud and two cases of contempt dating back to April 1, 1987.

ODB's second solo album, Nigga Please, is scheduled to be released Sept. 14. His first, Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version (1995), included "Baby C'mon" (RealAudio excerpt) and
