Rootsy singer/songwriter Edwin McCain will sing the national

anthem at the fifth game of the National Basketball Association finals

between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs on Friday (June 25)

in New York, McCain's publicist said. McCain, best known for the hit

"I'll Be," released his third studio album, Messenger, June 15.

It features the single "I Could Not Ask for More."
