Atari Teenage Riot's Alec Empire

"We wanted to make a record that is, on the one side, more aggressive

and more noisy than our other records but, on the other side, that's

really moving and motivating people for action. Not like shock-value,

so people look at us and say, 'Those people are so extreme.' We wanted

something more involving ... to motivate people on a social level. It

would be so nice if people didn't have the power to keep holding us

down and pushing us back all the time. It's going to be to the point

where we only kill ourselves. Our idea of society is as an anarchist

society, a society without power structures, a society where everyone

is responsible. Our idea is to educate [others] to approach life like

that and not just be lethargic and bored and just consume stuff."

-- Alec Empire, Atari Teenage Riot frontman, on their upcoming LP's

recurring theme of revolution
