"Party Of Five" Soundtrack Due in '96
Rickie Lee Jones has recorded a very funky version of the
'60s Donovan hit, "Sunshine Superman." With harp, slide guitar and an old-style
Hammond organ in the mix, the track sounds like it could have been cut by the
original Little Feat. It's expected to show up on a soundtrack for
the Fox series "Party of Five"
due out later this year. Also expected to appear on the album is a brand new
version of Tom Petty's "Freefalling," that Stevie Nicks is currently in the
studio completing. Other artists believed to be participating in the project
are Tori Amos, Robyn Hitchcock, former American Music Club leader Mark
Eitzel,
Juliana Hatfield and Syd Straw. Oh yeah, '60s folkie Judy Collins has recorded
an amazing version of the old folk song, "Sally Go 'Round the Roses," and a new
artist named Holly Palmer delivers a cover of Dylan's "All I Really Want To
Do."
