Jared Leto's Approach To Joker On The 'Suicide Squad' Set Is Kind Of Insane

It's no laughing matter.

With reporting by Josh Horowitz.

It seems like all eyes have been on the "Suicide Squad" set since the DC movie first began filming in April -- in no small part because Oscar winner Jared Leto is taking on the iconic role of the Joker, and he's the the first actor to do so since Heath Ledger died in 2008.

And according to Jai Courtney, who plays Captain Boomerang in the movie -- and also stars as Kyle Reese in the upcoming "Terminator: Genisys" -- says that Leto's taking his part very, very seriously.

"I don’t think any of us are naïve to the pressure he’s under," Courtney said. "It’s not something I’ve talked about with him, but I’ve seen him working and it’s cool, man."

But has Jared gone method? "Sort of," he added. "I don’t know how you measure that these days. I haven’t seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let’s put it that way."

In the meantime, Courtney's schedule will continue to be pretty brutal as he films the movie. "We’ve been doing nights for the best part of a couple months. It’s been wild, dude. [We’ve got] ‘til the end of August, so we’ve got a while."

Just don't burn yourself out there, buddy -- we've seen the photos from on set and it looks intense over there!

"Terminator: Genisys" hits theaters on July 1. "Suicide Squad" hits theaters August 5, 2016.
