Watch The Spice Girls Visit Their First American Mall In 1997
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the Spice Girls' debut album, Spice. To celebrate, watch this clip of the girls visiting an American mall for the first time in a 1997 episode of MTV's House of Style.
They run rampant in a Contempo Casuals, which was the go-to chain store for chokers and crop tops in the '90s — you know, the first time people got really into chokers and crop tops. The store was later bought out by Wet Seal, which, if you're unfamiliar, is kind of an older version of Forever21. And if you don't know what Forever21 is, well um, it's like an IRL Missguided.

My only complaint about this otherwise charming historical artifact is that the Spice Girls don't try the foremost American mall delicacy: the Cinnabon. But I'll take it.
