September is not a good month for love. A week after the internet learned that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were getting a divorce, another famous Hollywood power couple is also calling it quits. Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts are splitting up after 11 years together. They never married.

The couple started dating in 2005 after meeting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual costume ball. They have two sons, Sasha and Samuel. Sasha recently went with his dad to the Emmys, and Watts captured the duo getting ready on social media.

In a joint statement to People, Schreiber and Watts said, “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple.” They also added, “It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship. While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”

The couple was recently seen at the Toronto International Film Festival, promoting the sports drama The Bleeder, in which they both star. They also worked together on The Painted Veil in 2006 and Movie 43 six years later. According to a source from Schreiber’s show Ray Donovan, his relationship with Watts has reportedly “been on the rocks for quite a while.”
