The ‘Treat You Better’ singer plays Hashtag Game on ‘The Tonight Show’

Shawn Mendes's new album, Illuminate, drops today (September 23), and the singer stopped by The Tonight Show Thursday to perform "Mercy." Before that, he also helped out Jimmy Fallon with this week's hashtag game, where fans tweet fake lyrics for songs about fall that parody famous jams.

Mendes performed the best on the show with the help of The Roots, including a riff on his own song "Stitches." After that, he parodied Justin Bieber's "Sorry," as well as songs by Adele, Justin Timberlake, Naughty By Nature, The Proclaimers, and lots more.
