Florence + The Machine Bust The Harp Out For ‘Wish That You Were Here’

From Tim Burton's upcoming film Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

We're getting closer to the September 30 release of Tim Burton's latest flick, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and Florence + the Machine have just released their soaring and just-haunting-enough contribution to its soundtrack.

If there's one sound that stands out in Flo and Co.'s output besides the soaring vocals of the siren herself, it's an instrument that's barely used outside of their shows and, well, fancy-schmancy concert halls: the harp. Its metallic plucking defined her breakthrough hit, "Dog Days Are Over," and now it's providing a beautiful undercurrent for "Wish That You Were Here."

All of the hallmarks of an ideal Florence + the Machine tune are here, from Florence Welch's cloud-grazing voice to the rallying rhythm of a rousing chorus, and its woozy vibe matches the surreal ilk of the film perfectly.

"Wish That You Were Here" is the second soundtrack undertaking Florence + the Machine have put out recently, as their cover of "Stand By Me" will be featured in the latest game to join the Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy V.
