Here's The One MTV Show That Inspired Kim Kardashian's Career

She was destined for reality TV

Time and time again, the world asks itself, "What does Kim Kardashian actually do?” While the list of her accomplishments continues to grow — she's an entrepreneur, author, businesswoman, singer of “Jam (Turn It Up)” — she's most importantly the star of a very successful reality show. Though some may scoff at the idea of reality television stardom, it's exactly what Kim has wanted to do since basically the dawn of her existence.

In a new "Inner Circle" video on Kim's website with her real best friend, Ali (sorry, Jonathan), Kim reveals how the first season of the Real World inspired her future.

"When we were in, it had to have been elementary school, and the Real World came on, I was, like, obsessed," Kim said. "And I remember watching it and I was like, ‘Oh my god, that's what I want to do. Like, I want to be on a reality show. We have to make an audition tape for the Real World.’ And you were like, ‘Ugh, we're not going to make a tape. Just make one and I'll have my dad send it in ... I don't want to be on the show, but I'll manage you.’”

While Kris Jenner usurped Ali as Kim's manager, Ali went on to work for her dad and his managing business, and Kim went on to ... well, you know.
