It's always satisfying to see a truly horrendous character get his long overdue comeuppance, and the High Sparrow's vaporization on the Season 6 finale of Game of Thrones was definitely no exception. But this isn't the first time actor Jonathan Pryce's villain got what he deserved. While they haven't always been blown to smithereens, Pryce's characters have suffered in various ways over the years. Check out these six films that didn't end too well for him.

Mr. Dark from Something Wicked This Way Comes

Hoo boy, Mr. Dark was not a force to be reckoned with for about 95 percent of this creepy AF 1980s movie. Mr. Dark wanted to take over a small town and collect everyone's souls, stalking two boys who threatened his endgame. He met his demise when the boys and their dad fought him off and refused to give in to his "magical offerings."

Governor Weatherby Swann from the Pirates of the Caribbean films

Yeah, yeah, Pryce's character got much better by the end of Curse of the Black Pearl, but before that, he was a total hard-ass. He always told his daughter Elizabeth what to do and kept trying to catch and murder Captain Jack Sparrow — even after Jack saved Elizabeth. During the last scene, he and Lieutenant James Norrington were the butt of the joke when Jack escaped in front of a horde of armed men. Of course, Swann later died in At World's End.

General Vavarin Delatombe from The Brothers Grimm

A French military commander, Delatombe tried to execute Will and Jake Grimm by burning them alive after they failed to fix his impossibly unfair request. Later, Will murdered Delatombe by stabbing him with a flagpole, which sounds like an awful way to go, but based on Delatombe's torture chamber, it only seemed fitting.

The President of the United States from G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Reprising his role from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Pryce's U.S. president was actually being impersonated by the dude who played Imhotep in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. Eventually, the real president was rescued, but Pryce's fake president didn't fair so well.

Alistair Payne from What a Girl Wants

Oh man, this guy. Payne helped "get rid" of Daphne's mother before Lord Henry Dashwood could discover he was going to be a father. Of course, Henry kicked Payne to the curb once he found out (17 years later), forcing him to become a London tour guide instead of a big shot for British Parliament.

Elliot Carver from Tomorrow Never Dies

Yep, the High Sparrow was once a Bond villain, giving Pierce Brosnan hell. Elliot Carver was the worst of the worst: vengeful, remorseless, narcissistic, and extremely manipulative. He eventually went to the great Bond Villain House in the sky after getting torn to bits by a sea drill, so all's well that ends well.
