DMX Talks Puppy Love

After working with L.L. Cool J, Mase, Li'l Kim, and the Lox, it seems like DMX is quickly becoming one of the most ubiquitous names in hip-hop.

The up-and-coming rapper turns up on L.L.'s feud-inspiring single "4, 3, 2, 1," and he joined Mase and the Lox on "24 Hours To Live," as well as joining Li'l Kim and the Lox on their current hit "Money, Power And Respect.

But when he's doing his own thing, as he did on his big underground hit single "Get At Me Dog," he more than flaunts his affinity for canines. DMX can be heard barking as well as rapping on the track, and he also sports a dog tattoo and raises pit bulls.

I used to take dogs on the street," DMX recently told MTV News of his puppy love. "(I used to) bring them home if I could, make somewhere for them to sleep right outside the building. I had dogs as long as I can remember, you know. There was always a dog running loose somewhere. You gotta kick it with him for like a half hour before he trusts you.

The debut album by DMX, titled "It's Dark and Hell is Hot," will hit stores next week.
