On Saturday (May 7), Kesha took the stage at the Humane Society's gala in Los Angeles to sing a deeply emotional rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Til It Happens To You."

Accompanied by the song’s co-writer, Diane Warren, on piano, Kesha dedicated her performance to "every man, woman, child, and animal that has ever been abused.” Earlier this year, Lady Gaga performed the ballad at the Academy Awards with dozens of sexual violence survivors onstage along with her.

Kesha is currently in the midst of a legal battle against her former producer Dr. Luke, whom she alleges abused and assaulted her in the course of their work together.

Gaga tweeted her support of Kesha’s cover with a call to action: "I could feel your pain,” she wrote. "These boys won't be in charge forever. The wisdom of women is rising. Let's get louder."
