Daisy Ridley And 'Star Wars' Director Are Reuniting For A ‘Mystical Version Of 'The Notebook'

The actress and J.J. Abrams are about to make you sob

Having made their mark in a galaxy far, far away, J.J. Abrams and Daisy Ridley are bringing their epic teamwork to a very non-Star Wars-y new project.

According to The Wrap, the director and actress will reunite for Kolma, a fantasy romance based on the 2003 Israeli TV movie All I’ve Got. Abrams will reportedly produce the supernatural pic, with Ridley in talks to star and Diary of a Teenage Girl director Marielle Heller at the helm.

Judging by the film’s synopsis, it sounds like we’ll definitely be seeing Ridley flex those tear ducts she used to nab her role as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Wrap describes Kolma as a “more mystical version of The Notebook,” centering around an elderly woman who faces a tough choice once she passes away. She can either go back to being 22 -- the age that she lost her husband in a tragic accident -- and try her life all over again, or she can go on to the afterlife and reunite with him there.

So, no, there won’t be lightsabers... but there will surely be all the feels.
