Benedict Cumberbatch's Dragon Face Is Amazing, Emotional

Remember the time Benedict Cumberbatch was a dragon? Well, the above is a screenshot from a featurette that appears on the extended edition of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" (the first movie in the why-does-it-have-to-be-a-trilogy trilogy of the approximately 300 page long J.R.R. Tolkien novel) chronicling the making of the second movie, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

If you learn nothing else new today, learn this: This is what Benedict Cumberbatch's dragon face looks like, y'all. The certified Most Britishly Named Person Alive is fierce.

We caught a little look-see at Cumberbatch's CGI reptilian form (insert joke about His Cumberness' unusually arranged human face here) in the trailer for "The Desolation of Smaug," but the whole pile of treasures things proved to distract us from what was really important about this performance.

Which is, of course, Cumberbatch's LOLarious face. Dude just emotes so hard! Thank the heavens for intrepid fans like Tolkienerd who take it upon themselves to screen cap the most glorious moments of humanity. When the aliens invade in a few years, we hope they find this post, as it truly sums up all that's great about this green earth.

Look at that damn Cumberface. We bet he'd be great at smizing. Tyra would be all over that noise.

Just try and look at this sucker and not chuckle a little:

Come on! Dude's basically an emoticon! :#, right?

And, since we can't resist, here's Julian Assange Cumberbatch doing his patented Track Pants Dragon Crawl:

You're welcome, Cumberbitches.

Another devoted fan took video of the iTunes-only (for now) featurette, which depicts, in the Cumbersmaug's words, his "slithering about":

We may have to sit the next few plays out, though we won't say whether it's due to aggressive swooning or laughter. (Truth: A little of both?)

"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" is set to roar into theaters (hahaha, get it?) on Dec. 13.
