Captain America is Directing a Movie (And It Sounds Kinda Good)

Before he's ready to become the Star-Spangled Superhero once again for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," Captain America Chris Evans is gonna need to exercise a little creative control, ya heard?

Evans, who is currently gaining some cred even outside the nerdy world for last year's chilling "The Iceman" and his part in the equally frigid-titled apocalyptic "Snowpiercer," has decided that it's high time for him to take the director's chair. And the movie that's gotten the ball rolling on Chris Evans as The Director is a little romantic film he's had his eye on for a while called "1:30 Train."

According to Deadline, Evans really likes the Ron Bass-scripted story, even though it seems to be similar to the "Before Sunrise" concept, with two people engaging in a happenstance one-nighter which eventually becomes all philosophical and emotional-like. He likes it so much, in fact, that he carried it over from another would-be movie matching with another director and wrangled in some producers to back the project.

Reportedly, the first time director-to-be aims to squish this one out very quickly (how very director-like of him) this fall before production launches on Joss Whedon's first "The Avengers" sequel, "Age of Ultron."

Evans, of course, will also star in the picture. No word yet on his leading lady.

So ... good on him, but does anybody else still just think of him as Jake Wyler from "Not Another Teen Movie"?
