Marvel Confirms [Major Character] Will Survive 'Thor 2'

If you read the title, you'll know right away that this post is super spoileriffic, so proceed to read at your own risk!

Don't say we didn't warn you.

For real now... This is your last chance to look away.

Still with us? Cool. So, you know how writer-director Joss Whedon told everyone earlier this summer that Tom Hiddleston's Loki won't be appearing in "The Avengers 2" (pardon us, "The Avengers: Age of Ultron")? Well, there's good and bad news.

The bad news is that no one's quite yet slamming that story as some misinterpretation of Whedon's words — he'd told Empire Online, "Loki's not there" in the second Marvel-ous installment — but the good news is that it doesn't look like the character'll bite the dust when we see him next in "Thor: The Dark World" either, as some may have suspected.

Marvel Prez. Kevin Feige, yes the same guy who cleared up the Vin Diesel situation, told Empire, "We think Loki could be the big bad for us, for a long time," adding that the presence of so many Loki cosplayers on site at this year's Comic-Con definitely urges the studio "to keep following their instincts" with regard to the character.

Now, he didn't exactly spell it out or anything, but this does seem to indicate pretty firmly that Loki's gonna make it through whatever goes down in the "The Dark World."

Phew!

"Thor 2" hits theaters on Nov. 8. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Zachary Levi, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Chris O'Dowd, Rene Russo and Stellan Skarsgård also star (with character fates unknown at this time).
