First 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' Poster Teases the Shield

With Marvel's Comic-Con takeover due next week, the studio's ready to start ramping up the buzz on its next leg of our patriotic pal's adventures in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and has released this first poster for the pic.

As you can see, it's a relatively simple image of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)' busted-up 'Merica shield. And, well, that's an overt nod to Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." TV business if we've ever seen one.

The studio promised "even more Cap" at its Hall H panel at the Comic-Con on Saturday, which will be shared with "Thor: The Dark World" and is vaguely set to feature "many surprise guests."

This poster is the third image Marvel's doled out from "Captain America 2" so far, and interestingly enough, the very first one featured a relatively intact version of the same exact shield. So, one has to wonder what kinda havoc-wreaking's gonna go down to rough the thing up so. Well played.

The official synopsis for "The Winter Soldier" is as follows: "As Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C."

The film, which hits theaters on April 4, 2014 (or, as the poster indicates, "4.4.14."), also stars Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, Robert Redford, Toby Jones, Frak Grillo, Dominic Cooper ... and, of course, the inevitable cameo by Stan Lee.
