Zach Galifianakis' 'Hangover III' Premiere Date Story Will Make You Bawl

Who said celebrities are heartless?

Okay, yeah, we may have inferred that a time or two before, but hey we're totally happy to be proven wrong on that point. And today we have. Prepare to sob from all the sweetness contained herein, dear readers.

For the Los Angeles world premiere of "The Hangover Part III" earlier this week, Zach Galifianakis brought along a mundo special date.

No, it wasn't that super hot wifey of his; it was actually a formerly homeless woman he's been helping out for a couple of years under the radar.

Per The New York Post, the funnyman's glam little plus-one was an 87-year-old named Mimi Haist — a woman he made pals with back in 1994 when she was working at a Santa Monica laundromat.

When he found out she'd become homeless two years ago, he took it upon himself to put her up in an apartment with the help of Renee Zellweger (former long-time girlfriend of Galifianakis' "Hangover" co-star Bradley Cooper). Zellweger, the Post reports, "furnished the apartment and makes sure that Mimi always has food in her fridge."

Are you tearing up yet? If not, here's another detail: This isn't even the first time Galifianakis has brought Miss Haist to one of his shindigs. She's a regular Gali-pal, and sometimes even attends events in his stead.

Sniff.
