In Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy, James Franco's Harry Osborn was arguably the most complex character. On the one hand, he was Peter's best friend, a good guy with good intentions. On the other hand, also turned eventually into the Green Goblin and tried to totally murderize Petey. You just never knew which way Harry was going to go.

And the same could be said for Franco himself, who has earned a well deserved reputation for sticking his thumb in Hollywood's eye. Case in point: When asked by MTV's Josh Horowitz what he thought of last summer's reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man," his answer was a heartfelt and succinct "Ehhhh."

Not that Franco has anything against newcomer Dane DeHaan, who is set to take over as Harry Osborn in the upcoming sequel "The Amazing Spider-Man 2;" Franco seems to think DeHaan will do just fine in the role. But Franco, who is getting ready to headline his own potential blockbuster in Raimi's upcoming "Wizard of Oz" prequel "Oz the Great and Powerful," made no bones about the fact that he didn't think "Amazing Spider-Man" was exactly necessary.

"Ehhhh. I mean, They coulda strayed a little bit more from the original. It was like, 'Why?'" Franco said. "Well, I guess they made a lot of money. Okay, congrats."

"But, good for them," he added. "Sam and I moved on. We made 'Oz.'"

See? One minute he's a bad guy and the next he's all smiles. DeHaan is going to have his work cut out for him to live up to that kind of standard.
