'Jurassic Park' Set For Grand Re-Opening in Summer '14

There will be no robot uprising (at least for a while). But there will be rampaging dinosaurs ... very, very soon.

Universal Pictures is looking to reawaken all those '90s-era nightmares of raptors and T-Rexes (and Jeff Goldblum speeches about Chaos Theory) as it's announced the official release date for "Jurassic Park IV," according to The Wrap.

The fourth installment in the sci-fi action franchise is set for June 13, 2014 ... which seems, like, right around the corner for a movie that doesn't even have a finished script yet.

Steven Spielberg, whom earlier this week announced that he was postponing what was to be his next directing project, "Robopocalypse," will be returning to produce the fourth "Park" but will not be in the director's chair. Spielberg called the shots on "Jurassic Park" (1993) and the awkwardly-titled "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (1997) before handing over the directing reins to future "Captain America" helmer Joe Johnston for "Jurassic Park III" (2001).

That's right, it will have been 13 years since the last "Jurassic Park" when the fourth installment hits theaters next summer. We're sure that's not going to matter one bit, though — the film will no doubt make a mint at the box office ... and encourage longer lines at the "Jurassic Park" theme park ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The screenplay for "Jurassic Park IV" or "Jurassic Park 4" or whatever we want to call (or spell) it for now is currently being worked on by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who are probably freaking out now that they have an actual deadline. No word yet on plot details, casting or who will direct all the prehistoric mayhem this time around.

Meanwhile, the original "Jurassic Park" will be re-released in 3-D on April 5.
