Taylor Kitsch: Sex (Scenes) With Blake Lively Were 'Very Awkward'
What do you get when you put one "Gossip Girl" beauty and one "Friday Night Lights" hottie together in bed on screen? A whole lot of awkward, apparently. We know; it's hard to believe, but according to Taylor Kitch, it's true.
The Canadian thesp got all cozy like with Blake Lively in Oliver Stone's latest, "Savages," which hits theaters July 6, but when asked about their more intimate scenes, he told reporters, "It's very awkward to do, you know, and I was just glad it was over with, to be honest. And it's such a big part of [my character] and who he is, and that's how you meet him. So it's a pretty intense reveal, no pun intended."
But seriously, how can it be that awkward when you're both so unbelievably good-looking? According to People, Kitsch explained, "A lot of sexual improv was going on there." Sexual improv sounds interesting, not that we needed any more reasons to see this thriller, but still. He continued, "God knows we had two weeks of rehearsal, so we talked until we were about to pass out, and then [we shot the sex scenes] on the day I think I knew Blake three days… four days maybe."
OK, so it does sound like it all happened kinda fast, we'll give him that, but our empathy can only go so far when you've both got bodies like that. For our part, we're going to suspend our disbelief in those theater seats and just take it all in, awkward or not.
