Aziz Ansari Will Survive 'The Apocalypse' (Or Will He?)

Aziz Ansari will witness the end of days.

The "30 Minutes or Less" star has been invited to hang out with Seth Rogen and friends as they await the coming of "The Apocalypse," according to The Playlist.

Ansari, like the rest of his co-stars, will be playing a funhouse-mirror version of himself in the meta-comedy, which tells the story of James Franco's house party being crashed by the Four Horsemen. Some other party guests and hopeful "Apocalypse" survivors include Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Jay Baruchel and Ansari's "30 Minutes" co-star, Danny McBride.

Seth Rogen and his longtime writing partner, Evan Goldberg, are directing the film, which is based on the short Rogen made with Baruchel, "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse." We expect several Apatow-types will also be joining the cast at some point or another -- don't be surprised if you hear that the likes of Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell have also been invited to Franco's house, as well as Kristen Wiig and Leslie Mann if it's not strictly boys-only.

Aziz Ansari is currently bringing style and class to entrepreneurialism as the ever-scheming Tom Haverford on NBC's "Parks and Recreation." He'll next be seen (or heard, rather) as the voice of Squint in "Ice Age: Continental Drift," opening July 13.

"The Apocalypse" will commence with production later this year with a look toward a release date of June 14, 2013, which will put the end of the world head-to-head with Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel."
