'Friday Night Lights' Movie Update: Script Is Almost Done

For those of us whose hearts still beat for Dillon, Texas, just the smallest word of the rumored "Friday Night Lights" movie is enough to get us cheering like a rallygirl.

Well, get ready, because executive producer Peter Berg just threw a bomb at us only Smash Williams could catch.

"We're finishing the script very soon," he told NextMovie exclusively at the Hasbro showroom during Toy Fair, where he was checking out the goods for his movie, "Battleship." "If we can talk Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton into it – maybe [you can] put in a word – we're gonna go do it."

Berg also expressed surprise at the number of letters he's been receiving urging him to do the movie.

As for which of our favorite Panthers and Lions will return to throw another pass, it could be all of 'em.

"We're trying to get all the guys to come back – Adrianne Palicki, Minka Kelly, Taylor Kitsch, Zach Gilford and all those guys, but the idea we have is mainly around the Coach and Connie," Berg said. "Fingers crossed."

We're sure he meant to say, "Clear eyes, full hearts," but we're crossing our fingers just the same.
