'Detention'

If you're looking for a different kind of high school drama, here Josh Hutcherson stars as Clapton, who, along with a group of students in detention (during the prom) try to survive a serial killer.

Why Stream It: More visually appealing than most in the high school genre, the film has a biting wittiness.

Available On: Cable On Demand, iTunes, VUDU, Amazon Instant

Michael Bay's most recent chapter in his Transformers franchise is now available on Netflix. In this installment, Sam (Shia LaBeouf) tries to help the Autobots after learning that the Decepticons are interested in a spacecraft hidden on the moon.

Available On: iTunes, VUDU, Netflix, Amazon Instant, YouTube

'Last Days Here'

This moving documentary follows Bobby Liebling, lead singer of  '70s rock band Pentagram, as he tries one last comeback thanks to the continued encouragement of one dedicated fan. But will Liebling's addiction to drugs sabotage everything?

Why Stream It: Equally heartbreaking and inspiring.

Available On: iTunes

'The Deep Blue Sea'

In this steamy adaptation of Terence Rattigan’s classic novel, Rachel Weisz plays the wife of a British judge who engages in an affair with a former Royal Air Force pilot (played by Tom Hiddleston).

Why Stream It: Filled with passionate scenes and a strong performance by Weisz.

Available On: iTunes, VUDU, Amazon Instant

OLDIES BUT GOODIES

This comedy gem stars Bill Murray as selfish, egotistical Pittsburgh weatherman Phil Connors who, after covering the annual Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney, wakes up the following day to realize he's repeating the same day. Sit back and enjoy a classic.

'Momma’s Man'

In Azazel Jacobs' breakthrough film, Mikey (Matt Boren) returns to his childhood home in NYC to visit his parents with his wife and child back in California. But after his plane is grounded, Mikey returns to his parents and becomes more settled while his wife patiently waits for him at home.

'Bowling For Columbine'

Sadly relevant again after the horrific shooting spree in Aurora, Colo., Michael Moore's Oscar-winning documentary on gun violence in America is a reminder of how little has changed since the Columbine school shooting 13 years ago.
