Oscars nominee Saoirse Ronan killed it on the red carpet Sunday night (February 28). The actress was nominated for Best Actress in A Leading Role for her portrayal of Irish immigrant Eilis in the critically-acclaimed Brooklyn, which is also up for Best Picture this year.

MTV News caught up with Ronan before the awards show and spoke to her about Brooklyn's nomination and joked about the movie's possible good luck charm. Ronan, who stunned in a glitzy open-back Calvin Klein gown, also spoke about red carpet mistakes: "I'm sure I've said some ridiculous things," she admitted, laughing.
